Christmas party time!

PARTY DAY FUN AND GAMES!
There were some very groovy moves as the children danced to the party music!
Musical statues was quite a challenge as they were finding it difficult to stop moving!

Pass the parcel was a highlight! "Another layer!" was heard each time yet one more wrapper was taken off and the children's shrieks of delight got louder!

Finally this young man unwrapped the prize, as well as a chocolate coin for everyone! Then up to the party table to eat and these children definitely know how to party!

Then time to open presents from Santa!  There were books, a jigsaw and a set of miniature chairs.
Everyone was intrigued by the large present, and lots of children tried to lift it, getting rather a surprise at how heavy it was! Inside was a wonderful wooden marble run construction set (all the gifts were great finds in local charity shops!)

We were able to treat the children to these gifts thanks to the Friends of the School, who also bought party food for us.

It was lovely to have all the children together today for the party. They are a super class with a great sense of fun, and I am very proud of them all.

A great end to the term! A very Happy Christmas and New Year to you all!

Friday 11 December 2015

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

WE ARE EXCITEDLY COUNTING THE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

We have been finding out about the very first Christmas, and the special baby Jesus.

Our tree has been decorated many times and looks beautiful.

We needed to decorate the post box too, ready for all our Christmas cards!

OH, THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS RAINY..

The week began rather wet, but that simply gave different opportunities for play! The children decided they were going to wash all the vehicles, and no one escaped! Lots of giggling and chasing each other with wet brooms!!

I SPY SANTA...
Ho! Ho! Ho! I've got presents in my sack for the boys and girls.
The children were very busy wrapping little presents. This was great for practising fine motor skills such as manipulating tape, scissors, wrapping paper and folding the paper.

SUPER STARS!
This week we performed our Nativity Play with Lower School in front of over 100 parents in the afternoon show! We sang and signed "Twinkle twinkle little star", and we sang our hearts out with all the songs in the story.

The week finished with Christmas Jumper Day, and we raised money for Save the Children.
Don't we look great in our fabulous jumpers! Some of them even played Christmas tunes!

Friday afternoon was Christmas Craft time, and some of our parents came to join in the fun. It was a great time of making and sharing together.

Next week... it's our Christmas party!
